Heading off for lunch… again!

The National Trust have warned that it’s an ‘Apocalyptic’ summer for British wildlife, the Guardian reported today. You may have noticed a lack of butterflies in your garden, but did you know that further afield, the wet weather has drowned many breeding puffins in their burrows?! Amphibians are having a bad year too. The dry spell at the beginning of the year dried up pools, but now the water in them is too cool for frogs, newts and toads. However, unfortunately for some gardeners, slugs and snails are thriving. Lets keep our fingers crossed for the predicted hot spell next week….. and beyond.
