Tuesday 4th November 2025 - Some Autumnal Sun highlighted the Autumnal colours of the vegetation as the volunteers spent the day at Back Green.
With both brushcutters active and cutting through tussocks of rushes and a sprawling carpet of Goats Rue the other members of todays contingent did battle with outbreaks of Bramble with a combined attack of lopping and popping of their roots.
As usual there was a considerable amount of arisings, damp from the marshy substrate and weighty, for the team to shift to the compost heaps that reside at the top of the banks on this concave site!
Thursday 30th October 2025 - Bolstered by a new volunteer, todays activities saw the team amassing on Roundshaw Downs.
With the end of the year approaching the Autumnal and Winter tasks seemed to make their way to the fore as the dedicated squad set about some concentrated Bramble control outside the South East paddock corner, clearing a swathe obscuring the wire fencing and more singular strands that had woven itself through dense Blackthorn.
Tuesday 28th October 2025 - Todays Sunny Autumnal taskday had the fair sized contingent of volunteers returning back to Richmond Green for a hopeful final push against Wingnut tree regrowth.
Having spent a good few sessions here since September, with a concerted combined effort the team managed clear the last major stands of Wingnut regrowth (plus a bit of Cherry Laurel) carting away two more trailers of material and bringing the whole total to five trailers for the entire endeavour.
Thursday 23rd October 2025 - The sizeable turnout of volunteers were prepared and more importantly dressed for some wet weather on todays task at Roundshaw Woods, thankfully the deluge expected ended as a light drizzle instead.
Starting the day at the Lindbergh Road grassland of the woods the team set to work clearing the pre-cut grass that had become decidedly weighty with the overnight rain.
With the heavy shifting completed the remainder of the day saw the volunteers spreading along the roadside stretch of the woods, where fallen trees were cleared, protruding fenceline regrowth was cleared and one of the persistent swathes of Snowberry was tackle with the brushcutter.
